A new chapter begins: My journey to studying Osteopathic Medicine.
I am very excited to share that I have been accepted to study a Bachelor's degree in Osteopathic Medicine, beginning this September 2026.
This five year programme is a significant commitment, but one that feels like a natural and exciting progression of everything that I have been working towards throughout my career.
For the past seven years, I have had the privilege of helping people move more freely, build strength and reconnect with their bodies through yoga and reformer pilates. It has been an incredibly rewarding journey and one that has continually fuelled my curiosity about the human body.
Teaching movement has prompted countless questions: Why do certain movement patterns develop? What are the underlying causes of pain? How can I better support people on their journey towards lasting health and wellbeing?
Studying Osteopathic Medicine feels like the perfect next step in answering those questions.
While yoga and reformer pilates cultivate strength, mobility, balance and body awareness, osteopathy takes that understanding to an entirely new level. The degree will give me a comprehensive foundation in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, pathology and clinical assessment, alongside hands-on treatment techniques. More importantly, it will equip me to understand the root causes of pain and dysfunction, enabling me to support people with an even deeper level of knowledge and care.
One of the greatest joys of teaching is that every person who walks into my studio has their own unique story. No two bodies move in the same way and no two journeys are alike. My experience as a yoga and pilates teacher has taught me to observe movement with care, adapt my teaching to each individual and create an environment where people feel safe and supported.
Everything I learn throughout this degree will enrich the way I teach. Developing a deeper clinical understanding of the musculoskeletal system will allow me to design even more effective movement programmes and better support clients recovering from injury.
I know the next five years will be demanding, balancing university with teaching and everyday life, but the most meaningful growth often comes from stepping beyond what's familiar and I can’t wait to start!
To everyone who has supported me so far, my family, friends and clients - thank you. Your encouragement has played a huge part in helping me take this leap and I am incredibly grateful.
This isn't the end of my yoga and reformer pilates journey, it's an exciting evolution of it. I am looking forward to sharing what I learn along the way and continuing to help people move better, feel stronger and understand their bodies on a whole new level.
Bring on September!
