History
Today, yoga is widely practiced and has become a global phenomenon, with millions of people around the world enjoying the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of this ancient practice.
Philosophy
The yoga philosophy is a holistic approach to life that originated in ancient India. At it’s core, yoga is a practice that seeks to unite body, mind and spirit and to help practitioners live a more balanced and harmonious life.
Postures
The yoga practice is more than just physical exercise - it's a transformative journey that can help people connect with their inner selves, find balance and cultivate inner peace.
Anatomy
The study of the human body in relation to the practice of yoga. This includes an understanding of the various systems and structures of the body, as well as how they are affected by yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and other aspects of the practice.
Intelligent Sequencing
This part is the art of designing and organising a yoga class in a thoughtful and effective way. This involves considering factors such as the needs and abilities of the students, the focus of the class and the desired outcome or intention.
Pranayama
Yoga breathing techniques, or pranayama, refer to the various techniques used to control and regulate the breath. The practice of pranayama is considered an essential part of yoga, as it helps to cultivate awareness, calm the mind, and promote overall health and wellbeing.
